Deer Creek Stormwater / 8th St.

Deer Creek Stormwater / 8th St.A joint City of Jacksonville, JEA, and FDOT infrastructure improvements project from 12th Street to 7th Street, the Haines Street Expressway to Phoenix Avenue, and 8th Street from Haines Street Expressway to the railroad; a total distance of ± 2.8 miles (or 42 city blocks). 

R-A-M also designed improvements for a 0.75-mile portion of 8th Street from 2-lane urban to 3-lane urban section, FDOT interchange-related improvements, a bikepath and new sidewalks, and JEA OH to UG electrical conversion design; a replacement parallel stormwater collection system, and new retention facility; new "smart box" and box culvert structures; replacement design of associated JEA water, reclaimed wastewater, and sanitary sewer utilities; and contamination assessment of creek soils. 

The existing subsurface drainage system was upgraded to reduce flooding and maintenance.  All proposed drainage improvements were designed to the point of positive discharge and coordinated with the City's Master Stormwater Drainage Plan.
